I live in Grey Lynn which is only 5 minute bus ride to Downtown Auckland, I work in town so everyday I pass by Karangahape Road thinking to myself I really do need to stop and check out the hokohoko shops, there are quite a few. I use to shop along K'Road a lot well I was at Uni. A good mate of mine Awhina introduced me to the world of Vintage fashion, although I have always loved vintage fashion, I like to mix things up as I love the smell of new clothes as well, Awhina well she was totally dedicated to Vintage fashion, she had an outfit for everyday of the year pretty much.
So I am on latenight tonight and I was running a couple of hours early, so I decided to jump off the bus and walk the rest of the way to work, which mean't I could pop in to a few shops that I love on K'Road, plus I could check out all the hokohoko shops as well. I didn't buy anything, it was totally expensive, this I did know, but no harm in looking I suppose.
Happy hokohoko shoppin everyone!

Hi there!
ReplyDeleteI'm over in Australia but have family in nz and will probably be heading to Auckland in August (bbrrrrr!). Thanks for this post, I'll have to take a wander around these parts even if it is for just a look-see, a combination of vintage shops and op shops is just right!
Hi Melania,
DeleteThanks for leaving me a comment, glad to hear that I have helped. I hope you enjoy your stay here in New Zealand, if you have time, you should check out the Opshop Directory online, it should help you find out where the nearest thrift shops are to where you will be staying. Cheers.
